The ladies' basketball team played their first Regional playoff game Friday March 15th in Wynyard. They battled LCBI, a similarly ranked team, whom they had lost to before. It was a fantastic game and RJC fought hard and handily won, moving on to play against the home town favorites. Saturday's noon game started with a hot first quarter for RJC and a second quarter that left the game very close at halftime. Unfortunately, due to some early foul trouble, and battle scars, the team began to fall behind in the third quarter. It was a tough match and the girls played hard until the end, finishing their season with true grit.
The boys basketball team had a strong regional performance. The boys opened with a convincing win over Macklin and followed it up with a hard fought victory over Canora to claim the regional title. The boys will play for provincial medals at Hoopla this weekend.
