Boys Basketball Home Opener

After winning the Meath Park tournament Dec. 10-11, the undefeated RJC boys basketball team hosted Birch Hills this week in their home opener. The full house was treated to an exciting, closely contested affair that went right down to the wire. RJC led by 7 at half by pounding the paint and attacking the rim. However, Birch Hills closed the gap and took a one point lead late, due to their relentless fast-break offense. Unable to score on the final possession, RJC was forced to foul with 2 seconds on the clock and had to settle for a 2 point defeat. The team takes a 3-1 record into the Christmas break and is looking forward to putting in the hard work to continually improve in the new year.

Girls Basketball vs Langham

RJC ladies had their season opening basketball game at home against Langham on Dec 8. Our girls had a strong performance and won partly due to a dominating first half. This is a great start for our new team! We have one more game before the break: 4:00 on Tuesday Dec 14 at Saskatoon Christian School. Let's keep up the momentum!

Fall sports Windup

On December 1, we celebrated the accomplishments of our Fall sports teams here at RJC. Our small student body was able to compete in seven different fall sports! We fielded teams in 6 man football, boys and girls volleyball, boys and girls soccer, as well as golf, and cross country. This means that approximately 80% of RJC students took the opportunity to be part of a team and experience the benefits of a healthy, active, lifestyle with their peers. It must also be said that we did not just compete, but we excelled as well. Six of our teams represented RJC at their respective provincial championships, while the Seventh was 1 point away. Congratulations are in order for all the hard work and effort that our students put in throughout the fall to accomplish their goals as a team. Thanks to all our coaches as well who put in the countless hours necessary to ensure that our students had a great RJC sporting experience. We now turn our sights to the Winter sports season. Please see our calendar and come support our Basketball, Curling, and Community Hockey teams throughout the months to come.
