After winning the Meath Park tournament Dec. 10-11, the undefeated RJC boys basketball team hosted Birch Hills this week in their home opener. The full house was treated to an exciting, closely contested affair that went right down to the wire. RJC led by 7 at half by pounding the paint and attacking the rim. However, Birch Hills closed the gap and took a one point lead late, due to their relentless fast-break offense. Unable to score on the final possession, RJC was forced to foul with 2 seconds on the clock and had to settle for a 2 point defeat. The team takes a 3-1 record into the Christmas break and is looking forward to putting in the hard work to continually improve in the new year.
