Rosthern Longhorns Earn Silver Medal!!
The Rosthern Longhorns earned the right to compete in the Six Man 2A Provincial Final with playoff wins against Hudson Bay and Wynyard. The final game was played Saturday, November 9 in Watrous vs. the defending champion Watrous Wildcats. The Watrous team started the game strongly and scored early in their first possession. The Longhorns did not take advantage of several key opportunities and found themselves down 28-8 at half time. The second half was a different story as the Longhorns outscored the Wildcats 24-16. However it proved to be too little too late as the Wildcats prevailed 44-32. The Longhorns completed their 2013 football season with a 7-1 record. For many of the team's grade 12 players this was their second silver medal in the past three years. Congratulations to the players and coaches from RJC and RHS on a great season of football!
