On September 22nd the Rosthern Longhorns football team held its home opener against Shellbrook. Hard hits and solid execution helped the Longhorns get out to an early lead. As the game wore on the defence proved impenetrable and the offence added to the point total. When the final whistle blew the Longhorns prevailed 57-12. Great job Longhorns!

Given the high number of first and second year players a game was arranged on September 27th between Spiritwood and the Rosthern Longhorns. This was an excellent opportunity to provide crucial game-day experience to the entire team. The Longhorns proved to be quick learners. The defence stymied the Spiritwood offence, holding them to one offensive touchdown in the second half, while the offence capped off the game with a scoring drive. The future looks bright for Longhorns football!
