Longhorns Win Provincial Title
The Longhorns capped off an undefeated season winning the 2A 6 Man Provincial title with a 0-0 victory over the Birch Hill Marauders in front of a large hometown crowd on Saturday, November 14th. The win ended a long drought for RJC football in SHSAA Provincial play, with the title being the first for the school since the 1974 9 Man team under Jim Andres last won the title in Watrous. The Longhorns scored on their first drive of the game but needed a couple of scores and a number of defensive stops in the second half to pull away from a very determined Marauder team. It was a very exciting and satisfying end to a successful season as seen in the players' faces as they raised the trophy over their heads in the post-game celebration with family and friends on the field!
