Boys Soccer Tournament in
North Battleford, Oct 1 and 2
The Boys Soccer team competed in an eight team soccer tournament hosted by the Poundmaker First Nation (held in North Battleford) on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, we played three games and came third in our pool with a record of 1 win and 2 losses. On Saturday, moving on to the playoff round, we met Stobart (Duck Lake) School and played to a tie. We then played two extra periods and, with the score still tied, had to decide the game by a shootout. Our shooters were great and our keeper was excellent, giving us the victory and moving us into the semifinals. There, we met a very strong team from Poundmaker First Nation and came up short on the score.
Moving to the third place consolation final, we met Oskayak School from Saskatoon. This was the sixth game in two days for both teams and the players were running on empty. However, our team continued to work hard and were victorious with a 3 - 1 score.
