RJC hosts the annual Alumni Tournament of Memories

RJC hosted the annual Alumni Tournament of Memories on January 6th and 7th.  Five Mens' teams and one Womens' team returned to battle for victory on the basketball courts.

The RJC boys’ basketball team competed in the RJC Alumni tournament on Jan
6-7, finishing with a record of 2 wins and 2 losses, good for a third place
finish.  The victories came over alumni from last year’s squad and the ’06-’08
team.  It was a very strong showing for the boys.  The final pitted the staff
team against the ’04-’05 alumni.  Both teams entered with 3-0 records.  In the
end, the staff’s old legs couldn’t keep up with the relatively young bucks
from the mid 2000’s.  It was a great weekend of basketball, with many close
contests and great fan support!  We look forward to having even more alumni
back on campus next January.

Our girls played with fury and spirit at the alumni tournament this past weekend. It was sister versus sister for many of our players and good ol' sibling rivalry took hold. It was a best of three, and, though we lost every game, the girls had a lot of fun playing the oldies.

Up next is our home tournament where we will battle hard against VCA, Blaine Lake, and Kelvington.

Hockey also was a part of the weekend, with games taking place at the local town arena. There was a three team showdown with the present RJC team taking the victory.
An Alumni choir also rehearsed and had one performance at First Mennonite in Saskatoon.
It was a great weekend for all involved.  Thank you to Denelda Fast for organizing the weekend! Keep your eyes open for next year's date.  Bring all your friends!
