Longhorn Football vs PACI Sept 17th

The Rosthern Longhorns took to the road for their second game of the season. The Longhorns were hosted by the Prince Albert Collegiate Institute Golden Bears on Thursday, Sept. 16.
Once again the Longhorns proved to be the more experienced team outscoring PACI 73-13. The game provided another valuable opportunity for the whole Longhorn team to gain valuable game experience at a number of different offensive and defensive positions.




Veteran defensive player Luke Warkentin demonstrates excellent tackling form as he dives to wrap up the PACI ballcarrier's legs.


Running back Ryan Epp extends his reach, hauling in a one-handed catch for a touchdown in the first half of the game vs. PACI.


Adam Rempel heads upfield after catching a PACI third down punt. Rempel gained valuable 6 man experience playing linebacker and running back.


First year player Brendan Paetkau keeps his eyes on the ball as he receives a hand-off from quarterback Michael Epp.


Jem Gascho played another strong game for the Longhorns anchoring the defensive line as well as taking a turn at middle linebacker. Jem also made numerous special teams tackles on kick-off coverage.

Running back Evan Brockman flashed both speed and power running the ball vs. PACI.


Brockman also took his turn on the defensive side of the football playing safety. Here he tackles the PACI ballcarrier for a short gain.


Dan Dueck corrals the PACI quarterback in the backfield for a loss. Dueck played both offensive end and linebacker in the game.

Sure handed receiver Paul Ayres comes down with the ball for a big gain.

Ayres runs for daylight accompanied by blockers Jordan Wiens and Josh Thomas.
The Longhorns next game will be Thursday, Sept. 23 when they play in Wakaw.
