Midget Hockey January Update

The Rosthern Midget Wheat Kings continue to enjoy a good season of hockey. After a Christmas break the team began the second half league play. It took several games for the team to regain its form, losing games to Cudworth and Hague. However, the players picked up their pace with wins against Hague and Aberdeen to regain first place in a hotly contested battle with the Hague Midget Royals.

The SVMHL Midget schedule will come to a close with games in the last week of January and first week in February. The team will also be competing in a tournament in Melfort January 29-31.

The Midget Provincial Team made up of players from Rosthern and Cudworth played their first game against the Canora Cobras Jan. 23 in Canora, losing a close contest 6-5. The second game of the two game total point series is in Rosthern Feb. 4.
